Russia’s Lyudmila Roshchina on Worlds all-around silver: ‘This is our shared medal’

Lyudmila Roshchina from Russia claimed second place on the medal podium following the women’s all-around final at the World Championships held in Rotterdam on Friday. However, she expressed that she did not stand alone during her achievement.

Team Support and Gratitude

“There were coaches with me, my personal coaches, the specialists on vault and bars…I am very grateful for this.” stated Roshchina, who represented the World Gymnastics 2 team in Rotterdam. “This is our shared medal,”

Having advanced nine positions compared to her performance at the all-around event in the 2025 Worlds in Jakarta, Roshchina dedicated her medal to all those who supported and cheered for her.

“In principle, this whole situation is not good,” she emphasized.

Challenges Faced

Roshchina noted that the absence of certain Russian gymnasts, who were unable to compete due to visa issues, posed a challenge for her. She also took a moment to encourage her teammates who were not present.

“In principle, this whole situation is not good,” Roshchina remarked. “I want to give the girls a big thanks for their support. And so they don’t throw up their hands, we still have the European championships and world championships next year, and we can still do everything.”
