2018 European Trampoline, Tumbling and DMT Championships, Baku

The 26th European Championships in trampoline, double mini-trampoline and tumbling took place in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 12 to 15 April 2018. The programme covered individual and team events in all three disciplines, plus synchronised trampoline.

Trampoline

Diogo Ganchinho of Portugal won the men’s individual trampoline title, one of the best results in the history of Portuguese trampoline. Yana Pavlova of Russia won the women’s event. Belarus won both synchro titles and both trampoline team events, which underlined the depth of the Belarusian programme.

Double mini-trampoline and tumbling

Vasiliy Makarskiy of Russia won the men’s double mini title and Kirsty Way of Great Britain the women’s. In tumbling, Mikhail Malkin won gold for the host nation Azerbaijan, while Lucie Colebeck of Great Britain won the women’s title. Russia won the men’s team events in double mini and tumbling, and Great Britain the women’s tumbling team event.

Why three disciplines share a championship

Trampoline, double mini and tumbling are separate events with different equipment, but they share coaches, clubs and judges. Holding them together lets smaller federations send one delegation and gives spectators a varied programme.

Our Trampoline Gymnastics page explains time of flight and horizontal displacement. The previous edition was held in Valladolid in 2016.
