The 8th European Aerobic Gymnastics Championships were held in Arques, in northern France, in November 2013.
Individual titles
Riccardo Pentassuglia of Italy won the men’s individual event and Sara Moreno of Spain the women’s.
Teams
Russia won mixed pairs, Romania won the trio event and France won the group title in front of a home crowd. Russia also won aerobic dance and aerobic step.
France and aerobic gymnastics
France has been one of the most consistent aerobic nations, especially in pairs and groups. A home group gold in Arques was one of the high points for the French team in that cycle.
How routines are judged
– Execution: precision and control throughout the routine. – Artistry: music, choreography and use of space. – Difficulty: a limited number of elements from defined families, each with a set value.
