The 2018 European Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Glasgow were also the first qualification event for the 2019 European Games in Minsk.
How qualification worked
The top six teams in team qualification in Glasgow each earned two non-nominative places for their federation. The individual places would be decided at the 2019 European Championships in Szczecin, 10 to 14 April 2019.
Qualified teams
– Men: Russia, Great Britain, Germany, Switzerland, Turkey and France. – Women: France, Russia, Belgium, Great Britain, the Netherlands and Hungary.
Why it matters
Linking continental championships to the European Games made the 2018 team competition count twice. For smaller nations, a top-six place in Glasgow guaranteed a presence in Minsk regardless of individual results the following spring.
