Strengths
China's team score is usually built on pommel horse, rings and parallel bars. Zou Jingyuan is the reference on parallel bars, where he has two Olympic and four world titles, and he is also an Olympic medallist on rings. Those apparatus give China a scoring cushion that few teams can match.
The target
Japan set 254.529 on the first day of qualification. China do not need to beat it to reach the final, as the top eight go through. But qualification order decides the starting apparatus in the final, and a strong qualification also sends a message ahead of Tuesday's team final.
