INDIANAPOLIS (November 3, 2026) – USA Gymnastics announced that the Benchmark International Arena and the Tampa Convention Center will host the 2027 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships and the 2027 USA Gymnastics National Congress and Trade Show. This marks the second time in five years that Tampa has hosted these events, having previously done so in 2022.

Significance of the Championships

The Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships will feature Olympic and World Championships medalists competing for national titles and spots on the National Team roster. With the 2027 World Championships scheduled for later in the fall in Chengdu, China, and the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles just 11 months later, these championships will be a crucial preparation stage for U.S. athletes on the international scene.

The National Congress and Trade Show will take place from August 13-15 at the nearby Convention Center, expecting nearly 3,000 attendees and exhibitors.

“The Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships and National Congress serve as the pinnacle of our domestic season, and we could not be more excited to bring these events back to Tampa,” said USA Gymnastics President and CEO Kyle Albrecht. “Florida is part of one of the sport’s most active and robust regions, and athletes will be locked in as they prepare for the 2027 World Championships and, ultimately, the 2028 Olympic Trials and Olympic Games. We look forward to an amazing weekend for the sport.”

“We are excited to once again host USA Gymnastics in Tampa,” stated Lanness Robinson, Executive Director of the Tampa Bay Sports Commission. “Being able to provide the setting for 2027 National Championships at Benchmark International Arena is an honor that Team Tampa Bay doesn’t take lightly. Tampa is a first-class destination and the athletes competing are equally ready to bring out their very best.”

Future Stars

Junior and Senior women will compete on Thursday, August 12, and Saturday, August 14, at Benchmark International Arena, while Junior and Senior men will take the stage on Friday and Sunday. Each day is expected to highlight the new wave of USA Gymnastics talent that shone at the 2026 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Rotterdam.

Skye Blakely emerged as a standout, claiming individual gold in the all-around, as well as team silver, and earning bronze on vault and uneven bars. Claire Pease and Reese Esponda finished first and second in the floor exercise at the World Championships, with Pease also securing silver on vault. Joining them on the team silver-medal podium were Charleigh Bullock, Dulcy Caylor, and two-time defending U.S. all-around champion and 2024 Olympic team gold medalist Hezly Rivera.

The 2027 season will also see the return of Olympians to the elite ranks of gymnastics. Three-time Olympic medalist Jade Carey made her competitive comeback in 2026, while six-time medalist Suni Lee and three-time medalist Jordan Chiles have both expressed intentions to re-enter the elite competition leading up to LA28.

On the men’s side, defending U.S. all-around champion and 2024 Olympic team bronze medalist Frederick Richard clinched gold on floor exercise at the 2026 World Championships. He leads a 2027 field expected to include his Olympic medal-winning teammates Brody Malone, Asher Hong, and the renowned “We were thrilled with the reception the American Cup has received from international teams and gymnastics fans around the world,” Stephen Nedoroscik, alongside 2025 still rings World gold medalist Donnell Whittenburg and 2025 pommel horse World bronze medalist Patrick Hoopes.

National Congress and Trade Show

The National Congress at the Tampa Convention Center will offer gymnastics professionals from around the country three days of live educational sessions and demonstrations on various topics, including coaching, judging, business, preschool, school-age/recreational gymnastics, sports science, fitness, safe sport, and more. The accompanying Trade Show will present vendor booths featuring products and services relevant to the gymnastics community.

Additionally, USA Gymnastics will hold its annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony as part of the week’s activities. All-session tickets for the Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships are currently available, starting at $125 through Ticketmaster. A preliminary schedule for the championships is provided below; competition times are yet to be determined.
