Oka Shinnosuke, the 2024 Olympic all-around and horizontal bar champion from Japan, concluded his participation at the recent World Championships in Rotterdam with a pair of medals and a sense of satisfaction.
Reflecting on his final performances on October 25, Oka stated, “I didn’t really think of it as ‘the last one’ or anything like that,”
On that day, the 22-year-old gymnast secured a silver medal on the horizontal bar, adding to his earlier achievement of winning team gold. He also finished eighth in the all-around, fourth on the still rings, and fifth on the parallel bars.
Oka explained that he alleviated his nerves for the parallel bars and horizontal bar finals by concentrating on enjoying his routines. “I just wanted to enjoy it.” he said. “I realized that the more I thought about today’s finals, the more pressure I would end up putting on myself,”
