2017 European Aerobic Gymnastics Championships, Ancona

The 10th European Aerobic Gymnastics Championships were held at PalaRossini in Ancona, Italy, from 22 to 24 September 2017.

Individual titles

Daniel Bali of Hungary won the men’s individual event and Belen Guillemot of Spain the women’s. Spain also won mixed pairs through Sara Moreno and Vicente Lli, two of the most decorated aerobic gymnasts of the period.

Romania’s teams

Romania won both the trio (Andreea Bogati, Marian Brotei and Gabriel Bocser) and the group event. Romania has been one of the leading aerobic nations since the discipline was introduced, and team events are where its depth shows most clearly.

Dance and step

Russia won both aerobic dance and aerobic step, the two events that bring the discipline closest to fitness culture and choreography.

What aerobic gymnastics rewards

– Continuous, high-intensity movement for the full routine. – Difficulty elements such as jumps, push-up variations and balance elements. – Synchronisation in pairs, trios and groups.
